Funky Buns: Strawberry Snails

How delicious they are, these buns are strawberry snails! It is simply impossible to tear oneself away from them. In the delicate air curls of dough lies a ripe strawberry and just drives crazy with its aroma. A creamy cream brings to the top of bliss. Make strawberry buns at home - and you will surely love them forever.

Ingredients:

  • cow's milk - 80 milliliters (a third of a glass);
  • sugar - 45 grams;
  • quick-acting dry yeast - 1 teaspoon;
  • 40 grams of butter;
  • one egg;
  • premium flour - 200 grams;
  • a pinch of salt;
  • strawberries - 300 grams (200 grams for the filling + 100 grams for cream);
  • cream cheese - 2-3 tablespoons;
  • powdered sugar to taste (or 1 teaspoon);
  • yolk for greasing buns;
  • butter for greasing the dough - 1-2 tablespoons;
  • cream - a small amount to achieve the required consistency.

Funky buns: strawberry snails. Step by step recipe

  1. Heat the milk slightly and pour into a bowl, in which we will knead the dough.
  2. Add sugar and a teaspoon of yeast to it. Mix and let stand for five minutes.
  3. About 40 grams of butter (you need it to be soft at room temperature) is sent to another bowl. Add one chicken egg to it and mix with a whisk. Set aside.
  4. Sift the wheat flour through a sieve into a bowl. Add a pinch of salt to the flour.
  5. Pour the egg-butter and milk mixture into a bowl with flour.
  6. Knead the soft dough with your hands: you do not need to make it very dense.
  7. We round the dough for homemade strawberry buns and put it in a bowl greased with vegetable oil. Cover with cling film and put in a warm place for proofing for 1.5 hours. The dough should double.
  8. To make strawberry buns, I use frozen strawberries. Therefore, previously I put it to defrost in a colander. Cover the bottom of the colander with a paper towel so that it absorbs excess moisture.
  9. Cut the thawed strawberries into pieces.
  10. Sprinkle a little flour on the table and put the dough on it.
  11. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin into a rectangular layer. Roll out very thinly so that the layers of buns are quite puffy.
  12. Lubricate the dough layer with butter a little (so that the buns have a rich creamy taste) and sprinkle it with cane sugar a little (you can use ordinary granulated sugar). Evenly lay strawberries on it.
  13. We turn the dough with strawberries into a roll.
  14. We cut the roll into 4 identical pieces.
  15. Lubricate the baking tray with vegetable oil and put the buns on it in an upright position (slices up).
  16. We cover them with a film so that they do not dry out, and allow to rise for 30 minutes.
  17. Then remove the film and grease the strawberry buns with yolk diluted in a tablespoon of water.
  18. We send the buns to bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes. The temperature of the oven is 180 degrees. The main thing is not to dry the buns, because then the dough will become more dense and not so tasty.
  19. Ready buns (strawberry snails) are transferred to the wire rack and allowed to cool.
  20. In the meantime, prepare a cream for them.
  21. Put cream cheese at room temperature in a bowl, add a teaspoon of powdered sugar and two teaspoons of strawberry puree (beat 100 grams of strawberries with a dipping blender to a puree state).
  22. Beat with a mixer until smooth. If necessary, add a little cream (literally 1-2 tablespoons) to make the cream more liquid.
  23. We shift the cream into a pastry bag and decorate (pour on top) strawberry buns.
  24. Done!
