My relatives love insanely delicious donuts: it’s simply impossible to resist their aroma. Milk donuts prepared according to this recipe are incredibly airy, very lush, tender inside and with a charming crisp on the outside. This wonderful treat is so loved all over the world that they erect monuments to it, build skyscrapers in the shape of donuts, and in the USA there is even a national holiday - Donut Day. So, I suggest not to stand aside, and cook for a mid-morning snack, breakfast or dinner, magnificent donuts with yeast.
- 250 milliliters of milk (you can take any fat content, but better than 3.2%);
- 100 milliliters of water;
- 1 chicken egg;
- 65 grams of butter;
- 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar;
- 0.5 teaspoon of salt;
- 6 grams of dry yeast;
- 600 grams of wheat flour;
- icing sugar for decoration;
- vegetable oil (I have refined sunflower) - for frying.
Insanely delicious donuts. Step by step recipe
- In a saucepan we combine milk and water, slightly heat it.
- Then pour the contents of the saucepan into a deep bowl, in which we will knead the dough.
- Add sugar and dry yeast, mix with a whisk until smooth, leave warm for 15 minutes to make the yeast “live”.
- In a microwave or in a water bath, melt the butter (according to the recipe).
- When the dough comes up, we will drive one egg into a bowl and pour the melted (and already cooled) butter. Salt and mix with a whisk until smooth.
- Sifted flour is added to the liquid components in parts, each time thoroughly mixing with a spatula.
- First, mix the dough in a bowl, and then continue kneading with your hands: on a table sprinkled with flour.
- The finished dough should be elastic and not stick to your hands.
- We shift the donut dough into a bowl greased with vegetable oil. Cover with a lid or cling film. Leave warm for 1.5-2 hours: the dough should rise well.
- From the risen dough we form a cake, shifting it to the table.
- Roll the cake into a layer 10 mm thick (one centimeter).
- Cut a glass of donuts (circles).
- From the collected scraps, we again roll out a layer of the same thickness as the previous one. We also cut donuts out of it.
- We wait until the billet-blanks rise approximately twice.
- Pour so much vegetable oil into the pan so that the donuts float in it without touching the bottom.
- We spread the workpieces in very hot oil and fry on both sides until rosy. We turn over, helping ourselves with two forks.
- Donuts in milk are fried very quickly: 40 seconds on each side.
- We put ready-made air donuts on a dish covered with a napkin that absorbs all excess fat.
- After the donuts, cooked in milk, cool slightly, sprinkle them with powdered sugar.
