Ingredients:

  • 30 milliliters of vinegar;
  • one teaspoon of soda;
  • 3-4 large apples;
  • powdered sugar;
  • semolina;
  • 3⁄4 cup sugar
  • 1⁄3 cup odorless vegetable oil;
  • 1 and 3⁄4 cups flour;
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon of salt;
  • 3⁄4 cup sugar-free orange juice.

  1. To prepare lean charlotte without eggs, we need 3-4 large-sized apples. (I took green, sweet and sour apples, then baking is obtained with sourness).
  2. Wash the apples, core and cut into small slices.
  3. Take a form for charlotte and sprinkle with semolina. (Instead of semolina, you can use breadcrumbs). Sprinkle with semolina is necessary so that later it is easier to get the charlotte from the mold.
  4. Put chopped apples in a mold sprinkled with semolina. (Put apples firmly so that the bottom is not visible).
  5. Take a bowl and mix the following ingredients: sugar (I took brown sugar, but regular sugar is also suitable), half a teaspoon of salt, pour orange juice, vinegar (you can also use lemon juice) and vegetable oil. Beat thoroughly with a whisk until sugar dissolves.
  6. Sift the wheat flour first. It takes me about one full glass and some more flour.
  7. Add flour to the liquid mixture in small portions and mix with a whisk. You can also knead the dough with a mixer at low speeds.
  8. Then take one teaspoon of soda and stir it in a small amount of water.
  9. Pour the soda solution into the dough and mix the dough with a whisk.
  10. Put the finished dough in the form with apples (fill the apples with dough) and level the dough evenly over the entire form with a silicone spatula.
  11. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees.
  12. Place the charlotte pan in the preheated oven for one hour. (The baking time of charlotte should be watched in the oven: I bake at a temperature of 190 degrees, although the recipe says it’s one hour to bake, and somewhere in 45-50 minutes my cake is ready).
  13. You can check the readiness of the pie with a toothpick (if you pierce with a toothpick and it remains dry, then the pie is ready).
  14. Ready charlotte should stand in the oven for about an hour in order to cool.
  15. And now with the help of a knife, separate the edges of the charlotte from the mold, put a large flat dish on the dish and turn the dish so that the pie moves onto the dish.
  16. Decorate the top of charlotte with powdered sugar. I make powdered sugar from brown sugar (grind sugar using a blender).
