Flour 200 g
Dried prunes 150 g
Eggs 4 things
Granulated sugar 200 g
Butter or Margarine 125 g
Baking powder 1 tsp
Dark chocolate 50 g
Potato starch 2 tsp
Cognac or Brandy 50 ml

Step by step cooking prune meringue cake

  1. We wash the prunes, fill with cognac and leave for 25 minutes.
  2. We take the eggs and separate the proteins from the yolks.
  3. In a container with yolks we add sifted flour, baking powder, soft butter and 100 g of sugar. Mix all the ingredients to make a plastic dough.
  4. Wrap the dough in cling film and place in the refrigerator for half an hour.
  5. We take a baking dish and lay out a uniform layer of dough on the bottom. So that the cake does not rise during baking, pierce it with a fork in several places.
  6. Place the cake pan in the oven, heated to 180 ° C and hold for about 10-15 minutes.
  7. Beat proteins with a mixer, add 100 g of sugar, starch and continue to beat until a thick mass.
  8. We take the prunes from the cognac, squeeze and cut into small pieces. We leave for decoration 6-7 pieces of whole prunes.
  9. We take out a mold with a half-finished cake from the oven and distribute the sliced ​​prunes on its surface.
  10. Put whipped proteins on top of the prunes and continue to bake another 20-30 minutes.
  11. In a water bath, melt the dark chocolate and dip the prunes in it, which we left for decoration. This can be done with wooden skewers.
  12. We put prunes in chocolate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
