Stewed potatoes with cucumbers

Stewed potatoes with cucumbers is my great-great-grandmother's old family recipe. She cooked this potato in the oven. My aroma is associated with a noisy family dinner when the whole big family gathered at my grandmother's house on cold autumn evenings. She always cooked it. Now I cook this potato, and I especially like to make it in the autumn season.


  • potatoes - 700 grams;
  • carrot - 1 piece;
  • meat (pork) - 250 grams;
  • onion - 2 pieces;
  • hot chili pepper - 0.5 pod;
  • pickles - 3 pieces;
  • salt, butter.

Stewed potatoes with cucumbers. Step by step recipe

  1.  Dice the meat and fry in vegetable oil. Then add finely chopped onions, grated carrots, peeled and chopped cucumbers. Let everything calm down a bit, 5-7 minutes is enough.
  2. Then transfer the stewed masa to a ceramic pot or pot, add potatoes, chopped chili peppers (optional), salt. Add water and butter. Add water so that it does not cover the top of the potato.
  3. Put in a preheated oven for 40 minutes. See that the potatoes are not too liquid, if necessary, let them stew even longer, the taste will not deteriorate.
