Ingredients:

  • sugar - 500 grams;
  • water - 2 glasses;
  • lemon juice - 1 tablespoon;
  • star anise - 1 asterisk.

Candied orange. Step by step recipe

  1. Wash, dry, oranges finely peel, trying not to capture the white part.
  2. Cut it into strips and put in boiling water, boil for 10-15 minutes, put it in a colander and rinse with cold water. The peel from this becomes softer, digested, and excess bitterness comes out.
  3. We prepare syrup: pour sugar into a stewpan, pour water and put on fire. Try not to interfere with the syrup, as it will crystallize from this, periodically rotate the saucepan, for uniform heating.
  4. When the syrup boils, add star anise anise and chopped peels.
  5. Cook on low heat for about 30-50 minutes, stirring constantly, all the liquid should almost evaporate. As soon as you put the peels, they will immediately start the juice, and then begin to evaporate.
  6. 5-7 minutes before turning off, add lemon juice. Only not all at once, first part and mix, try, it is better to add again.
  7. Fold the candied fruit into a colander, then roll lightly in sugar and put on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper.
  8. Place candied fruit in a well-ventilated place to dry for 2-3 days. I practiced drying in the oven: I heated it to a minimum, put a baking sheet in it and opened the door. They dried up for me for about 40 minutes, but I periodically stirred candied fruits to warm evenly. After she turned off the stove and left it to cool completely for a couple of hours.
