Canned Tomato Recipe with Onion

This is not another recipe for harvesting tomatoes. Canned tomatoes with onions, not in brine, but in apple juice, without the addition of vinegar. I agree the recipe is not ordinary, but the taste of tomatoes is corresponding, it’s very spicy, rich and amazing.

Ingredients:

  • Tomatoes - 2 kilograms;
  • onions - 3 pieces.

To fill:

  • apple juice - 1 liter;
  • salt - 1 tablespoon;
  • sugar - 1 tablespoon.

Step-by-step recipe for canned tomatoes with onions for the winter

  1. Rinse the tomatoes, let the water drain, remove the stalks.
  2. Peel the onions, wash and cut into rings.
  3. Tomatoes should be blanched for half a minute in boiling water and put in jars. Pre-chop the tomatoes near the stalks, toothpicks, in order to avoid cracks, and to maintain the integrity of our tomatoes.
  4. Put the tomatoes in a 3 liter jar, shifting them with onions.
  5. Prepare a pour of apple juice, salt and sugar.
  6. Pour the tomatoes in jars with boiling fill. To sustain after each filling 3-5 minutes.
  7. After the third pouring, roll up the cans.
  8. Wrap it upside down in a blanket until it cools completely.
