Charming Potato Pies

Today we will prepare charming pies with potatoes from layered dough without yeast. Very tasty, satisfying and incredibly fragrant pies with lots of toppings are prepared quickly and simply. Amazingly thin dough just melts in your mouth. Delicate crispy cakes just ask in your mouth, just like in a fairy tale: “Sit on a stump, eat a pie” - you just won’t be able to resist.

Ingredients:

  • 100 milliliters of vegetable oil;
  • 1 fresh chicken egg;
  • 0.5 teaspoon of salt;
  • 1 teaspoon of 9% vinegar;
  • 125 milliliters of water;
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder.

Filling:

  • 700 grams of potatoes;
  • 1 onion;
  • 100 grams of butter;
  • 100 milliliters of milk;
  • 3 branches of dill;
  • vegetable oil for frying onions;
  • salt and black pepper to taste.

Charming pies with potatoes. Step by step recipe

  1. Sift flour into a bowl for kneading dough, add salt and baking powder to it, mix with a spoon.
  2. Pour water and oil into a separate dish according to the recipe, drive one egg.
  3. Stir with a whisk until smooth, pour in 9% vinegar. Mix.
  4. Pour the liquid mixture gradually into the flour, knead the dough: first with a spatula in a bowl, and then on the table with your hands: literally 1-2 minutes. We should get a smooth and elastic dough.
  5. Put the dough in a plastic bag, send it to the refrigerator for one hour.
  6. Tip. The dough can be made for future use: it is stored in the refrigerator for up to three days.
  7. For the filling, peeled potatoes are put in a pan, salt to taste, pour water and set to cook.
  8. Finely chop one onion, fry in a small amount of vegetable oil. Do not forget to stir so that the onion does not burn.
  9. Tip. To stew the onions well and become soft, add a small amount of water to the pan during the frying process.
  10. The potatoes are boiled, drain the water from it, leaving a small amount of broth in the potatoes. Knead the mashed potatoes.
  11. Add warm milk, softened butter, fried onions and finely chopped dill in mashed potatoes. Mix: the mashed potatoes should not be thick or liquid. Let the filling cool.
  12. We take out the dough from the refrigerator, crush, divide into two parts. We roll each part into a thin layer: so that the table shines through it. The size of the rectangular formation is approximately 30 * 40 centimeters.
  13. Slightly stepping back from the edge, spread the potato filling, turn it into a tight roll.
  14. The resulting roll is divided into 5 or 6 parts, crushing the blunt part of the knife to the division site.
  15. Hand hold these places, scroll the dough like a candy wrapper.

  17. We carefully pinch all the edges of each pie, put the place of the cut up, and make a recess with our hands.
  18. We spread all the pies (I got 10) on a greased baking sheet, leaving enough space between them.
  19. Mix the yolk with a small amount of milk, beat with a fork until smooth. Using a silicone brush, grease our pies with the mixture.
  20. We send a baking tray with pies into the oven, the oven preheated to 200 degrees, bake for 30-35 minutes, until golden brown.
