My mother baked a homemade loaf without eggs in the difficult 90s. I remember then it seemed to me that this is the most delicious loaf in the world. Frankly, I forgot about this recipe. Two years ago, I was sorting through old records, I found a recipe for a home loaf. Since then only my own cooked loaf has been eaten in my house, and no one recognizes the purchases.


  • water - 1 liter;
  • sugar - 1 cup;
  • yeast - 100 grams;
  • a pinch of salt;
  • flour.

Homemade loaf without eggs. Step by step recipe

  1. To start, prepare a kind of dough: mash the yeast with a little warm water, add a teaspoon of sugar. Let the yeast stand in a warm place for about 15 minutes.
  2. Now knead the dough: heat the water, mix with sugar and salt. Then carefully introduce the yeast dough, then gradually adding flour, knead the dough.
  3. The dough should turn out airy, soft not stick to your hands.
  4. Put the dough in a bowl, cover with a towel and leave for exactly 2 hours.
  5. After this time, put the dough in a shape for a loaf or simply on a baking sheet, giving the dough an oval shape. Let the dough stand in the form of 10 minutes while the oven is heating. Then make cuts with a knife, like on store loaves, sprinkle with flour and send to bake in the oven at a temperature of 180 ° C until golden brown.

So it’s so economical and rather troublesome to cook a homemade loaf. I will immediately answer possible comments: there is not much sugar, you will not feel it, the loaf will be lush and airy, not a lot of yeast.
