I propose to prepare a spicy cucumber salad according to the recipe of my beloved grandmother and make sure that this appetizer salad is incredibly tasty and interesting. This is probably one of the most popular salads for lunch or dinner. The piquancy of the dish is given by the insanely delicious sauce, and from one flavor of the salad it’s just salivating. Such a salad is eaten first. I recommend preparing this salad: it will undoubtedly delight your loved ones with its taste and take its rightful place in the recipe box. Cooking such a salad is easy and simple, and the result will surprise you.


  • half hot green pepper;
  • 1 onion - white or red;
  • 700 grams of fresh cucumbers;
  • mint greens (a couple of branches);
  • green cilantro (a couple of branches).

For the sauce:

  • 1 teaspoon of salt;
  • 50 grams of sugar;
  • 60 milliliters of vinegar - rice or any other.

Piquant cucumber salad. Step by step recipe

    1. To prepare a spicy salad of cucumbers, you first need to prepare the sauce.
    2. Take a saucepan and add sugar to it, add salt and pour rice vinegar (or you can use another one). We put all these ingredients on fire and heat until the salt and sugar are completely dissolved.
    3. Vinegar can be used wine or apple. Lemon juice can also add originality to the taste.
    4. When the salt and sugar have melted, remove the pan from the heat and allow the sauce to cool.
    5. Prepare fresh cucumbers: wash, cut the ends and cut them into strips.
    6. It is not necessary to cut the cucumber into strips: you can cut into a crescent or in small cubes - choose your favorite method of slicing.
    7. We turn to cooking onions. You can use salad white onions or red.
    8. I love red onions: it tastes softer and more tender.
    9. Peel the onion and cut into thin half rings (can be cut with a knife or using a special grater).
    10. Put chopped cucumbers and onions in one bowl.
    11. Next, you need to finely chop half the hot pepper, previously peeled. Add chopped pepper to cucumbers and onions.
    12. Take a couple of branches of cilantro, rinse well, chop and add to the bowl to the vegetables.
    13. Next, a couple of sprigs of mint, as well as cilantro, are washed, chopped and added to the bowl to the chopped ingredients.
    14. You can add your favorite foods to cucumbers: carrots, bell peppers or tomatoes.
    15. Add the cooled sauce in a bowl to the chopped vegetables and herbs, mix thoroughly.
    16. So that the vegetables are thoroughly mixed, you can cover the bowl with a plate or a lid, and shake well.
    17. For those who like to use spices, herbs, to prepare a fragrant marinade, you can use: garlic, bay leaf, coriander, black peppercorns, mustard seeds, caraway seeds, rosemary, dill or cloves. Choose the spices that you like more.
    18. After you have added the sauce to the vegetables, you can serve the salad on the table: but I prefer to let the salad brew. The longer the vegetables are infused, the richer their taste will be.

    When the cucumber salad is soaked in the sauce: it is ready. The taste is just amazing. Such a salad can be decorated with greens: a sprig of mint or parsley, and on top you can sprinkle with sesame seeds.
