Fish is always present at my holiday table, but every time I try to surprise guests and cook it in different ways. This time I had waffle cakes and herring in my arsenal, and I thought, why not combine these two products in one snack cake with herring? I added mushrooms and vegetables there and it turned out, I’m not afraid of the word, a real masterpiece.


  • wafer cakes - 120 grams;
  • herring - 1 piece;
  • champignon mushrooms - 400 grams;
  • onion - 3 pieces;
  • carrots - 3 pieces;
  • mayonnaise - 240 grams;
  • Russian cheese - 120 grams;
  • parsley - 50 grams.

Snack cake with herring. Step by step recipe

  1. Separate herring fillet and remove the seeds.
  2. Grind the peeled fillet with one onion in a blender.
  3. Fry the mushrooms with the rest of the onions. Also, chop the mushrooms a little with a blender.
  4. Boil the carrots and grate.
  5. We put the waffle cake on the dish, put half of the herring with onions on it, pour with mayonnaise and cover with the second cake.
  6. Put on the second cake half of the mushrooms with a beam and grease with mayonnaise.
  7. Cover with a third crust and lay out half the carrots. Grease with mayonnaise.
  8. Then lay out in the same sequence: herring, then mushrooms, grease the carrots on top with mayonnaise and cover with grated cheese.
  9. Refrigerate for overnight soaking.
