  • a kilogram of white cabbage;
  • a kilogram of carrots;
  • one teaspoon of turmeric;
  • 0.5 cups of vegetable oil;
  • two cloves of garlic;
  • 100 grams of sugar;
  • one teaspoon of salt;
  • 125 milliliters of water;
  • 0.5 cups of vinegar.

  1. Traditionally, Beijing cabbage is used for this recipe, but with white cabbage it is very tasty and healthy.
  2. White cabbage finely shred with a knife or with a shredder.
  3. Wash carrots, peel and rub on a coarse grater (you can use a grater for Korean carrots).
  4. We combine the vegetables in a deep bowl, wrinkle a little with our hands: so they let the juice go and become softer, which will positively affect the taste of the salad.
  5. Sprinkle vegetables with turmeric and chopped garlic (it can be chopped with a knife, passed through a press or grated on a fine grater). Mix the entire contents of the bowl with your hands.
  6. Cooking marinade. Pour water into the pan, add sugar and salt (according to the recipe). We put the pan on the stove and bring its contents to a boil. Stir constantly to dissolve the sugar and salt.
  7. Turn off the heat, add vegetable oil, vinegar to the pan, mix.
  8. Pour the cabbage with the prepared hot marinade.
  9. Mix a little so that everything is saturated with marinade.
  10. We cover the pan with a lid or a plate (the diameter is smaller than that of a bowl), we press, we put oppression.
  11. We leave under oppression for 24 hours.
  12. We remove the finished salad in the dishes, close the lid, store in the refrigerator.
