Ingredients:

  • Tomatoes - 5.5-6 kilograms;
  • onions - 6 pieces.

Fill:

  • gelatin;
  • water - 4.5 liters;
  • salt - 5 tablespoons;
  • sugar - 10 tablespoons;
  • vinegar - 1 tablespoon;
  • peppercorns;
  • Bay leaf.

Step-by-step recipe for tomatoes in jelly for the winter

  1. Soak gelatin in advance 1 dilute a pack in one glass of cold boiled water.
  2. Wash the tomatoes, remove the stalks, cut into 2 or 4 parts, if too large.
  3. Peel and chop the onion in half rings.
  4. Lay onions on the bottom of the sterilized cans and tomatoes on top.
  5. Prepare the fill, combine all the ingredients for the fill, boil. Then pour in the prepared gelatin and vinegar, let it boil for 2 minutes and pour the tomatoes over the top.
  6. Cover the jars with lids and place in a pot of water for sterilization. Be sure to put a tissue napkin or wire rack in the pan.
  7. Sterilize a jar with a capacity of 3 liters - 30 minutes, 2 liters - 20 minutes, 1 liter -10 minutes.
  8. Immediately then roll up the jars and wrap them upside down in a blanket until completely cooled.
