  • sunflower oil - one tablespoon;
  • butter - 10 grams;
  • salt to taste;
  • mayonnaise sauce - 150-200 grams (it can take a little more or less, it all depends on your taste);

Unusual herring under a fur coat. Step by step recipe

  1. The main sauce in our dish will be mayonnaise. You can use both purchased and cook it yourself. The whole process of making homemade mayonnaise will only take you a few minutes. It is better to cook it in front of vegetables, then refrigerate it to cool. I suggest starting with the preparation of mayonnaise sauce.
  2. Pour into a deep bowl (you can special, from a submersible blender, it is included) 150 grams of vegetable oil. Add a teaspoon of mustard, a tablespoon of lemon juice, ¼ teaspoon of salt, ½ teaspoon of sugar, one egg, you can still spices to your liking. Immerse the blender and begin to beat for 10-15 seconds. Then you get a thick and tasty mayonnaise. Also, to your taste, you can add pepper and other spices. We put mayonnaise in the refrigerator.
  3. Also, if it seems to you that the mayonnaise is very high-calorie, you can cook a slightly different sauce (without eggs, in milk). Use the same ingredients as when preparing regular mayonnaise. Replace only the eggs with milk. Milk needs to be taken exactly two times less than sunflower oil. For example, in our case, it is 150 grams of butter and 75 grams of milk. Milk can be used in absolutely any fat content. I get mayonnaise with both 1.5% fat milk and homemade milk. Therefore, choose the fat content yourself.
  4. First you need to put cook all the vegetables except potatoes. Potatoes will begin to cook last.
  5. Boil the vegetables, peel them and grate on a fine grater. We place beets and carrots in separate bowls.
  6. Herring needs to be cleaned. Then remove the ridge and all the bones, and cut the fillet into small squares (pieces).
  7. Potatoes, which will be the basis for baskets (boats), must be boiled. It should be well warm, even a little hot, so that it is convenient to work with.
  8. After the potatoes are boiled, we peel it. Then we rub it on a fine grater. If there is no grater, no problem: remember it well with a fork or a crush (for mashed potatoes). Then add ten grams of butter to the still grated potatoes and mix well.
  9. Take a cupcake mold. If not, you can replace other similar baking dishes. You can also take yogurt boxes and, having trimmed the edges a bit, use instead of forms.
  10. Now, using a pastry brush, grease all forms with vegetable oil.
  11. We take the hot potato mass and put it in the form (inside). Press with your hands and form baskets. Make sure that they are more or less the same on all sides: in thickness and in height. If necessary, remove excess potatoes from above and give the baskets a beautiful shape.
  12. After that, remove the potato baskets for at least one hour into the freezer. There they should cool well and begin to keep in shape.
  13. Then we take it out of the freezer and take it out of the mold. If you have difficulty getting potato baskets out of shape, you can do the following. Place the basket shape on the hot plate for a couple of seconds. Then flip over and remove them. Do not hold for a long time so that the oil (which is in the potato) does not melt. After reaching, the baskets (boats) should keep their shape perfectly. Transfer to a flat dish (or board) and begin to fill them.
  14. First, grease the bottom of the basket (boat) with a small amount of mayonnaise. Then add the onion.
  15. We spread the herring, and on top we sprinkle it with grated boiled carrots.
  16. Another layer of mayonnaise, and finally - a layer of beets.
  17. The top layer of beets can be decorated with mayonnaise. To do this, put a little mayonnaise in a bag and cut a small corner. Then squeeze out his mayonnaise and decorate: it can be in any form or in the form of a net. Here your imagination and creativity will help you.
